The Ocmulgee Water Trail Partnership (OWTP) launched the Ocmulgee Water Trail web site earlier this week with information for paddlers, fishing, and outdoor recreation. OWTP community members have worked together for several months to make enjoying the Ocmulgee easier and safer. In addition to information that will help users planning to paddle, fish, and enjoy the Ocmulgee, community events will be added as they are announced. The Ocmulgee Water Trail will be a key part of the National Park and Preserve designation ONPPI and local citizens are working to bring to Macon and Middle Georgia. Outdoor recreation is an important part of Middle Georgia’s economy and this trail will make it easier for local residents, fellow Georgians, and tourists to enjoy the river and surrounding areas.
